What are the traffic laws for funeral processions?
The Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Code permits drivers in funeral processions to proceed through red lights and stop signs without stopping under certain limited circumstances. The cars in the procession may go through red lights and stop signs if the lead car started through the intersection while the light was green or, as to stop-sign intersections, if the lead car made a complete stop at the stop sign. Additionally, the procession cars must have headlights on, emergency flashers activated, and must bear a funeral flag or other insignia.
